About Emergent Literacy in Young Children
Stories in Motion by Paulene is story telling at its very best! It’s a unique emergent literacy experience. It’s a great story, told in a more personal, interactive way. Everyone’s a star as we use props and music to let our imaginations soar!
It's not just about sitting and listening – it’s about being engaged in the story and interacting! It’s about making the story so fun and memorable that children will think and talk about it even after the story’s over.
Literacy development is a social and cognitive process that begins at home, but should be reinforced at schools and libraries with fun and creative emergent literacy experiences that trigger and keep a child’s interest. This development of early literacy skills (listening, reading, writing, language skills) will have a profound effect on all children and will provide a solid foundation for a child’s future literacy success.
I have a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Regular and Special Education from Fordham University. I taught preschool for 6 years before I started my own business called “Creative Movement and Stories in Motion”. I’ve been bringing my creative movement and interactive story programs to classes and libraries throughout Westchester County for 10 years now and am still going strong.
I love what I do and know that positive early childhood literacy experiences set the foundation for a child’s future success in reading, writing, vocabulary and cognitive development, and so much more.
